Ashley Hall has many opportunities for all types of students. I wanted to get a firsthand look at what different students’ lives look like. I am not in high school, I’m in the eighth grade. So, like many of you, I wanted to see what high school students' lives are like.

I interviewed one person in three of the four grades of high school, here are the results.

Sophomore year - Gemma Williams

What does a normal day look like for you?

A normal day for me is having archery practice, then school, then going home and running and then doing my homework, having dinner, and going to bed.

What is your favorite part of your day?

My favorite part of the day is Thursday mornings when I have my societies or even days when I have Spanish.

What is the hardest part of your day?

The hardest part of the day for me is the last period before lunch when it’s hard to focus.

What does your schedule look like?

I have seven classes in total. My Monday schedule has every class starting with honors chemistry, then 2nd I have intro to computer science, 3rd I have 2D art, 4th I have Intermediate 3 Spanish, 5th I have World History, 6th I have English, then I have lunch, then I have my 7th block DIS, and 8th I have honors Algebra II.

What is your favorite thing from the Slice Cafe?

My favorite thing from the slice cafe are the muffins!

Junior year - Dagny Mauro

What does a normal day look like for you?

A normal school day for me consists of hard work, long walks on many stairs, and lots of organizing. You might be thinking that sounds stressful and tiring, but the small parts of the day make it genuinely enjoyable. Like joking with my friends, having random conversations with teachers, finding small breaks to listen to music, and lots and lots of snacks. So really, it's up to you to make the day fun or not.

What is your favorite part of your day?

Anytime I can hang out with friends.

What is the hardest part of your day?

Sitting through a class I don't like. And finding time to eat breakfast.

What does your schedule look like?

I have a pretty nice schedule this year but it's all pretty basic classes. But something that stands out is almost every morning I have archery starting at 6:25, my Improv society every other Thursday morning, tutoring after school till 6 every Monday, dance classes every Tuesday from 7:30 to 9, and on Wednesdays I have extra help and singing lessons at the school that ends at 6. Then I work every weekend. So I guess it's a lot but it all helps me so much. Plus, I keep myself organized so I rarely get stressed.

What is your favorite thing from the Slice Cafe?

A heated-up blueberry muffin. I didn't even know they heated it until last week and it was great for breakfast.

Senior year - Eliza Groat

What does a normal day look like for you?

A normal school for me begins with my usual classes in the morning (I love the days I have a free first and don’t have to come to school at 7:50), all the seniors are usually in the shell house during break so it’s always fun to hang out. My friends and I will usually leave for lunch since there are so many places to go downtown. After lunch I usually will have one more class before the end of the day. After school, if I don’t have a sport going on, I like going to the gym or on a run before going home to do homework and have dinner with my family!

What is your favorite part of your day?

My favorite part of the school day is being around my friends in the shell house and catching up!

What is the hardest part of your day?

The hardest part of my day is motivating myself to get all of my work done after school. Sometimes I just want to sleep!

What is your favorite thing from the Slice Cafe?

My favorite thing from the Slice Cafe is definitely bagels and cream cheese, they are so good!!
