Graduation is a momentous milestone that marks the culmination of years of hard work and growth. At Ashley Hall, this event was made even more memorable by our guest speaker, Dr. Davis. As seniors, we had the privilege of forming a unique connection with Dr. Davis since the beginning of our Classics class in 7th grade. From exploring the stories of mythology to delving into the intricacies of Latin and Greek, Dr. Davis became more than just a teacher to us; he became a cherished mentor and friend.

During our time with Dr. Davis, a remarkable bond developed. We established a tradition of spending the first five minutes of each class sharing the events and happenings of our lives. Dr. Davis showed genuine interest in our stories, and his investment in our lives created a warm and welcoming environment in his classroom. This connection only grew stronger as we progressed throughout our years of Classics.

In our final year, Dr. Davis continued to inspire us with his wealth of knowledge. Our studies covered a vast range of subjects such as different forms of architecture, the rich history of the ancient, medieval, and modern worlds, the art of translating Latin and Greek, and even personal anecdotes from Dr. Davis's own experiences at Ashley Hall. This comprehensive education broadened our perspectives and deepened our appreciation for the world around us.

As the day of graduation approached, we eagerly participated in cherished traditions that have become an essential part of the Ashley Hall community. Baccalaureate and Commencement were marked by numerous customs that held great significance to us. The speech delivered by Dr. Weston, which recounted our most memorable days at Ashley Hall, evoked a sense of nostalgia and pride. Capturing moments of joy and community, we took pictures in Mcbee House, forever immortalizing our time as students. The pinning of graduates by Ashley Hall alumna, is another tradition used to symbolize the passing of the torch from one generation to the next. However, it was the throwing of roses in the air, emphasized by Dr. Davis in his speech, that remains etched in our memories as the most heartfelt tradition of all.

Dr. Davis's speech during our graduation ceremony left an unforgettable mark on our hearts. With his eloquence and wisdom, he reminded us of the bond we had formed throughout our journey at Ashley Hall. Through his words, we realized that our education extended far beyond textbooks and exams—it encompassed the relationships we had built and the memories we had shared. As we embarked on our individual paths, we carried with us the knowledge that our time at Ashley Hall and our connection with Dr. Davis would forever shape our lives.

Graduation at Ashley Hall is a transformative and meaningful experience. The presence of Dr. Davis, our beloved teacher and mentor, elevated this special occasion to new heights. The traditions we embraced and the connection we formed with him made our graduation an unforgettable milestone in our lives. As we bid farewell to the place we called home for so many years we carry with us the memories, lessons, and enduring bond that will guide us in every step of our journeys ahead.
